when we wake up and realize the physical universe is just an illusion, and we are spiritual beings that were having just a dream of a life. we are in truth , eternal. i guess you could call that the last step in evolution, which is merely a process of self recongization. an awakening.

Re: How do you think life on earth will end ?

I think religion gonna make use so dumb we cannot feed our selfs anymore and cannot cure diseases anymore, at least thats the path we are currently on, based on how current religion rejects science.

Come on who with a bright mind thinks LHC could destroy earth[rofl]

Ice age seems possible, the sun will be around for a few more billion years and there no black holes near us.

I'll bet it will be humanity there stupidity that will kill us, greed and power lead to destruction and stupidity lead to blind followers.

Ow sun kills us before it collaps, a red dwarf will toast us, and global warming=ice age.

Your always gonna be kinda correct by voting 1, because religion will always claim that anyway earth get destroyed it would be by the hand of god and not by nature or by the dangers of our universe.

TBH I don't think any of them, apart from the Sun or black hole (which is extremely unlikely) ones, will lead to the complete extinction of humanity. There will always be at least some humans living somewhere on the planet.

If our sun went nova, there would be no Nexus like on Star Trek Generations to rescue us.

The sun is the most intimate object in the Solar system with the Earth, yet it's also one of the most ignored. When people yap about so called "global warming or climate change" the Sun gets ignored the most.

Re: How do you think life on earth will end ?

I chose World war 3 as the front runner by a mile, and it's not because the other reasons aren't valid, just that most of them are possibilities that most likely have higher odds of happening in longer term....In a few cases, way long term(Sun going super nova).

But wars, well the unfortunate fact is that they're fought over resources these days, and the fact is that as human population keeps on growing,it puts even more pressure on having/controling those resources needed to make any given population not just survive, but also thrive,as we need ever higher amounts and there's only so much available to go around,so eventually,as resources become more rare, countries will either have to fight for what's left, seriously cooperate as equals(good luck on that),or start seriously exploring planets within the solar system,to extract their resources for use on earth.

Because practically everything that's available on earth, also exists in other planets,at least in terms of raw building materials, except for oil of course, and we do have the technology to make commercial exploration of the closest planets within our solar system a practical reality.....Hell,use just 10% of the money spent world wide on military budgets, and apply it towards that instead.

Re: How do you think life on earth will end ?

    Something not on your list...

Overpopulation is one of the biggest issues we're facing today.

In just 50 years our world population has nearly DOUBLED.

We're already using more fresh water than we're able to replenish; in other words we're already running out.

We're running out of room. More and more people = lower and lower worldwide standard of living.

The best part of this, is it's easy to solve. Just start educating people about the issue in a similar way condom use is promoted. Be responsible with having children and the amount of children you have. Understand that the earth is not an unlimited resource. We're just a tiny blue spec in the vast of the cosmos that can be eliminated in the blink of an eye. No more massive families or octo-mom situations.
