My EVGA 133-K8-NF41 has leaky/buldgeing cap.

Motherboard has a single leaky cap i can see near the 24 pin PSU connector.

Thats how i noticed it, I was gonna upgrade the PSU form a Antec EA-430 to a new Enhance 500WATT PSU.

I hope EVGA will honor there lifetime warranty, which is what they said it had when purchased with the 7800GT combo deal about 3 1/2 years ago at NEWEGG.

This sucks, I really have not noticed any problems with the computer crashing or anything, as i did on my Epox and Abit boards that had leaky caps.

Anybody RMA a motherboard to EVGA before????

I have RMA'ed several video card before and got free upgrades each time, but never a motherboard.

If you said that was the problem they will likely just solder a new cap on [yes]

Lifetime warranty is only available if you registered the product within 30 days of purchase, otherwise its just 1 year.

Given its extreme age I doubt they have any spare hanging around and may give you something more recent forcing you to upgrade.

yeah back in 2005 you did not have to register for the lifetime warranty to be good, so I checked and it is under lifetime warranty.

I applied for a RMA, should be approved in a day or 2.

RMA approved, I have to ship it in now.

Ok cool, these days you need to reg for the life time warranty, let us know how you get on.

Like I mentioned earlier, be prepared for non-availability for a direct replacement.

EVGA only make Nvidia based Intel boards and they aren't really a recommended option unless you're desperate for SLI on a core2 platform.

    Try and get a 750i at least (650 and 680 are a big no-no)

Probably cheaper to buy a new cap and solder it on than shipping will cost you. [rofl]

I know but i want to keep my lifetime warrranty intact, so hopefully i will get a New board for free, gotta love free upgrades.

I can sell my X2 3800+ 939 socket cpu on ebay for about what a new E5200 goes for. so a nice free upgrade would be sweet, or AM3/AM3 board would be nice too.

Not to mention SLI 939 boards go for good money on Ebay too, like $70.00 to $100.00, I love selling old gear for a profit on Ebay.

I shipped the board out yesterday USPS Parcel Post, in the original Plastic shell, should be there in a week, weighed over 4lbs and cost me $10.13 with tracking.

Hopefully I will get the non-availability for a direct replacement email and get a free upgrade.

got board back from RMA about a week ago.

it was a newer version 2.3 looks new, but cant be sure, is nice and clean, no dust or anything on it.

just finish putting it all together right now.

    X2 v3800+ at 2.33ghz right now

    2 x 9600GSO 768mb
    4 x 1gb pc3200 ram

am about to bench in 06

    any predections???

no problems installing Vista Ultimate 64-bit SP1

8587 in 06 same as with 1x 8800gs 384mb, seems about right, i figured sli would do nothing till maybe 3ghz cpu speed, if I ever get there.

judging by the RAM amount the 9600GSO is just a renamed 8800GS.

You should have higher score with SLI, make sure it really is enabled.
