    Screw Time Warner

"TWC has been testing plans with 5, 10, 20, or 40GB of data transfer per month, with prices ranging from $30 to $55 a month. Compared to other ISPs, this seems like an abysmal deal, since AT&T's DSL has no official cap and Comcast offers 250GB per month, generous by comparison"

I can understand the need for caps to curtail abusive users, but 5-40GB in this day and age is unacceptable...especially when we already pay $60 a month for an 8mb/400kb connection, which in my mind is too high without a cap in place.

Hopefully Verizon will bring their FiOS down here in short order...

An HD movie on XBL is over 5GB. Even 50GB is absurd [rolleyes]

I just can't see this as being anything other than an abysmal failure for Time Warner Cable.

I highly suspect that in a tech-savvy town (Austin) in the midst of a recession, TWC will experience a massive loss of customers.

And to think...I thought Comcast's 250gb cap was out of line..

    Re: Screw Time Warner

Good to know they have nothing but goodwill for their customers.
So they're effectively raising my "unlimited" 8mb/400kb bill from $60 to $150.

    Hmmm...something seems amiss.

    Gotta love a broadband monopoly.
